Honey & Almond Baklava Recipe

Honey & Almond Baklava 


  •  2 cups honey
  •  1 ¼ cup sugar
  •  2 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  •  2 cups almonds – chopped 
  • 2 cups peanuts
  •  1 cup melted butter
  •  Pastry 


1- The first stage is to place the honey, 1 cup of sugar, the lemon juice and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon into a pan. 

2- Bring this to a simmer and add the cloves; leaving it to simmer for approximately 5 minutes before removing the cloves and allowing it to cool. 

3- You can then place all the remaining ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir them thoroughly until completely mixed.

4- You now need a dish approximately 12 x 9 lined with greaseproof paper. Place a piece of pastry in the pan and lightly butter it. 

5- Then repeat this step until there are 8 pieces of pastry in the pan. You can now pour half of your nutty filling on top of the pastry. 

6- It’s then time to repeat the pastry stage until there are another eight layers and then the rest of the nutty filling. 

7- The top three layers of pastry should be laid diagonally to add a feature to the dish. 

8- You can now bake this for 20 minutes on 300° F Once cooked add the honey mix; pouring it all over the dish and leave the dish to marinate for at least 6 hours. Then enjoy!
